Music and Movement

Creating a Dynamic School Community with Dance and Song

Designed for music teachers, Diane incorporates simple folk dances, raps, chants and sing-a-longs, which are all guaranteed to get students involved with music in a fun, supportive way. After teaching for 15 years in the public school plus obtaining her Music Together certification (pre-school movement program) Diane has a time tested collection of material - all the student's most requested favorites presented together in one exciting program. Diane hopes that this workshop will help music teachers transform their schools into singing and dancing communities and will discuss how to make music and dance a positive and integral part of school life. Handouts for all materials are included. Great for Teacher Conference Days, Assembly, and Residency programs.

One Blue Sky Above Us

Creating Safety in Your School

An elementary school music program about working together to keep your school community mentally healthy and safe. An interactive, fun way to inspire your students to have greater awareness and involvement in preventing tragedies such as the gun -related shootings that have occurred in an alarming rate across our country at Sandy Hook, Ct. Diane is one of the persons who has joined a diverse and engaged group of Sandy Hook Promise Leaders from across the country who are committed to working with schools, colleges and universities, places of worship, workplaces, youth-serving agencies, libraries or community centers, nonprofit organizations and community or civic groups to help build awareness and implement prevention programs.

This highly interactive, fun, music program creates greater awareness of the importance of an inclusive school community and is sensitive to the needs of the students and teachers. It includes songs and messages about promoting peace within your school, anti-bullying, accepting diversity in others, developing student mental wellness. This special offering has been inspired by seeing the local school shows offered in the past by Pete Seeger (she lived close by) and talking with him on numerous occasions about how he spread his non violent message with only his voice and banjo. Includes handouts.
